1 Sol Bikini Builder

Finding a bikini that fits is possibly one of the hardest things to shop for online and in-store. Most swimwear sold in department stores comes attached by security devices that don’t allow you to mix and match tops and bottoms. This makes it difficult to buy a top and bottom that fits your body type. Then you have situations when you find a bikini style that comes in solid, print, and embellished. The print may be spectacular, but you don’t care much for having both top and bottoms the same.

Don’t feel forced to buy two bikinis. The 1 Sol Bikini Builder TM solves that problem. The 1 Sol Bikini Builder TM allows you to mix and match tops and bottoms,  you can select the fit, and the size of your top and bottom.

You will no longer scramble to mix and match swimwear that fits at the store, because with the 1 Sol Bikini Builder TM you are in control.

Happy Shopping!

New Year’s Resolutions

We all have made resolutions for the new year at one point or another. It’s hard to stick to a routine or new plan at first, but you can do it. Losing weight, and working out is one of the most popular resolutions. If you think about it, you have twelve months to reach your fitness goals. The halfway point would be during peak swimwear season. You can say to yourself, “I’m going to lose 15 pounds by spring break so I can look and feel great when I wear my 1 Sol bikini,” but the key to reaching your goal is not attaching a number/pounds off.

Focus on your health, cut calories, and start/increase your exercise regimen. Recent studies suggest that regular weight checks are important for keeping any weight loss program on track.

Get a head start by looking for your new 1 Sol bikini and swimwear for spring break and the summer months. You might want to buy a swimwear that is not your size to set a goal for yourself. Stay motivated throughout the year by hanging it in a place that you will be able to see every day as a reminder.

A Healthy Glow

It is recommended we wear lotion with some level of SPF every day no matter what season it is. When the summer is over, our options for tanning decrease. So how can we get a healthy looking glow without putting ourselves at risk for skin cancer? Sunless tanning. Sunless tanning doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult. The best part is that you control the tan level.

Here is a quick and easy DIY recipe:

Required time: About 30-40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Sponge or spray bottle
  • Optional: Body lotion pure cocoa powder

Instructions:

  • Boil water
  • Add the tea bags to steep
  • Leave in for 10-15 minutes, or until tea is dark and cool enough to touch.
  • Optional: For bonus color, mix cocoa powder into body lotion until you reach desired color and apply for an all-over bronzing boost.

Application:

Make sure your skin is clean, smooth, and dry before you apply the tea mixture. That is to say that you should exfoliate, shave, and moisturize your skin in order to get the most even tan possible.

  • Soak the sponge in the tea or use the spray bottle to spray yourself evenly.
  • Work from the feet up, and apply self tanner in a circular motion.
  • Let skin air-dry and apply another coat for a deeper shade.

Once you’re done applying the mixture…

  • If you made a mistake, you can combine lemon juice and sugar to create an exfoliating scrub that will remove the color. Then reapply the tea to the area.
  • Wait until you are completely dry because the tea will stain your clothes.

How to Wear a Sarong

Sarongs are probably one of our favorite garments to wear. They are fashionable, they come in different varieties, they feel great, and you can add your own flair to them by tying it different ways. Sarongs are like scarves; there are different ways to wear them, but we don’t always know how to tie them around.

The easiest way to wear a sarong is by tying it around your waist like a skirt, which is probably what most of us do. Depending on the length of the sarong, you can create different looks that will make you look unique.

Here are a few ways that you can wear it:

  • Skirt
    • Long or short: Depending on the length you want, you can either fold the sarong to create a short skirt or long skirt that ties on the side.
  • Dress
    • Halter: Start by yourself in the middle of the sarong, so that when you wrap it around your body (back to front) you have equal amount of fabric. Then take the two top ends of the sarong, cross the two ends over your bust and tie into a knot in at the back of your neck.
    • Strapless: You can start with the same steps as with the halter dress, but instead of tying it around your neck just tie the two top ends in the middle. The other option is to tie it on the side like you would a skirt.
  • As a Top
    • Fold the sarong into a long rectangle that is long enough to cover your bust area. Then tie it around so that you leave the back hanging.

Transition from Summer to Fall

You don’t need to be a meteorologist to know that we’ve been experiencing a late summer heat wave. This weekend felt a little cooler, but we’re going to continue experiencing high temperatures this week.

What better way to escape the heat than a trip to the lake, beach, or pool? According to Resortsandlodges.com, lake vacations are the most popular summer travel destinations of 2012; consequently, this puts lakes ahead of beach vacations. Hitting the lake to escape the heat sounds like the best option for those of you that aren’t close to the coast. It is a great place to relax, and enjoy a good book while you look fabulous in your 1 Sol swimwear.

You might feel more comfortable wearing a cover-up at the lake as you enjoy the warm weather and soak in the sun. Take a look at this 1 Sol cover up. It is a sheer halter top with a basket weaved waistband.

The cover up:

  • is a great option for those of you that don’t want to be running after the kids in a bikini.
  • hides problem areas
  • is light-weight, and makes your swimwear look more like an outfit.
  • makes you look more feminine than when you’re wearing an over-sized T-shirt
  • are great transition pieces for those that want to go from swimming to shopping.

Bikini Controversy?

For years female athletes had no other option than to wear a bikini during beach volleyball matches. This year, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed female athletes to wear long sleeve shirts, shorts, and/or pants, so they wouldn’t be affected by the cold weather. Women’s rights groups were delighted by this change, while others have remained indifferent. According to various news outlets, the IOC is trying to reach out to Muslim nations by establishing new uniform rules that are more conservative.

As for our US Women’s Olympic Volleyball team, they feel comfortable wearing their bikini while competing. But how comfortable would onlookers feel at American beaches?

It is important to know where you will be wearing a bikini. You do not want to offend the local people and their culture. Here in the US we have gone through many changes as far as what was acceptable to wear at the beach or displayed on television. In the Sex and the City sequel the ladies are in Abu Dhabi and they are asked to be act conservatively. Similarly, YouTube was in the news when they took down a video of Kate Upton dancing in her barely there bikini; consequently, they lifted the ban.

Are we really that conservative? Well, according to Dr. Stephen Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach), director of the Laboratory for Coastal Research at Florida International University, the most liberal beaches in the US are: Venice Beach, CA; Panama City Beach, FL; and, South Beach, FL. While the most conservative beaches in the US are found in the New England states: Harbor Beach, ME; Reid State Park, ME; and, Coast Guard Beach, MA.
